I have mixed feelings about this tie. Somehow I think it's ugly, but I like it at the same time. I actually got a few compliments about it at work today, although my friend told me it was gay.

Day 7
I wore this tie today to prove to one of my co-workers that indeed some of the ties I got are really ugly. I was disappointed to find out that just about everyone liked it. Or at least pretended to like it. I still think it's pretty ugly:

Day 6
This is one of the few ties that I really like. I would probably buy this tie if I saw it at the store by itself, even. And it matches the color scheme at my company.

Day 5
I thought this tie was ugly and I didn't like it until I wore it. It's really not that bad. Also I really like this shirt that I got the same day I got the holiday tie.

Day 4
This tie wasn't a part of the 49 ties I got on ebay. I went to Kohls looking for a christmas sweater to wear to the holiday party my work had, but I could not find one. Luckally I came across the christmas tie section and picked out this guy:

Day 3
This tie is a little bit ugly, but surprisingly didn't look too bad. I think it woula looked better with a yellow shirt, but this one works too. By the way, the shirt was $5 at goodwill. I wasn't very happy in this picture, because I was greeted when I got home by a mess of diarrhea in my room from my sick dog :s

Day 2
This brown tie is pretty sweet. I wish you could see in the photo how fat the bottom is. It's a large tie. 100% polyester too, which is classy. Anyway, I like it:

Day 1
Alright, it's day 1. This tie isn't so bad. I don't know that I like it per se, but it's nice. I found a pair of grey pants I had hiding under a blanket in my closet yesterday, so it worked out good with this tie. I only look a little creepy in this picture:

I'm Shane. I recently got a job that lets me dress nice if I want to, or in jeans and a polo if I want to. I've always worked in places where I've had to wear ugly polos, and I actually have secretly wished I could dress nicer. Anyway I started buying some nice shirts, and a couple ties, and one day I was doing some searching online for ties, and tie accessories when I came across an awesome listing: 49 ties from someone's uncle who had died. Bidding was at $1, and 4 days remained. I decided to bid up to $20, to see what would happen. I mean, if I got them and 2 of the ties were good then it would be worth it. The days went by with no bids, and eventually, I was the proud owner of 49 ties, for the low, low price of $1.25 (plus $18.75 shipping). A few short days later, and a 6 pound box of tie arrives at my door. Please do enjoy the wealth of tie:
Here they are all organized in my closet:
I am going to attempt to wear one tie every work day, except casual Friday, until I have worn them all. This blog is here to follow me in my awesome tie-journey. The fun begins tomorrow.
